According to my calculations it will take at least 8 h 20 and at the most 10 h 25 to cook this meal.

Chickpeas means slow cooking and planning ahead. Unless you use canned chickpeas witch are exellent.
Another nice recipe:
Cook the drained chickpeas eith lots of garlic and salt until they are almost done. Ad the same amount of carrots and boil until they are very tender. Drain but save some of the boiling water. Put the chickpeas, carrots and garlic in a blender. A some oil, cumin, lots of lemon, salt a little chili and blend it to a smooth but yet crunchy carrot hummus.
