The [Open Office 2.0 features list](http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/features/2.0/) starts looking a lot like… a Microsoft offering. Loads of little things I have no use for. Alan Cooper turns in his grave… scratch that… in his sleep.

Whole Earth Catalog: A dear dead friend
> We *are* as gods and might as well get good at it. Quote from the introduction of the [Whole Earth Catalog](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whole_earth_catalog). Today I learnt how to use my wok better: **”hot wok, cold oil”** was the book’s credo. That is, they excerpted a book on sale and I learnt from that. If the heat …
Theatre success: Christofer Bocker
My old friend Christofer – a fellow web application programmer geek – has written a great play, won an award for it. This dramatic success came out of almost nowhere. He has written great prose before, I have read some (is that still unpublished?), but his theatrical experience is limited. [SVD](http://www.svd.se/dynamiskt/kultur/did_10438665.asp), [Nummer](http://nummer.se/), and [Dramaten](http://www.dramaten.se/default.asp?id=9936) go …
Call for Papers: Seminar on Playing Roles
Hey, role-playing writing is hot these days. Now also: Call for Papers: Seminar on Playing Roles, held *for free*, people, in Tampere, Finland, March 23-24 in 2006. It is the fine folks from the [Hypermedia Lab](http://www.uta.fi/hyper/) at the U of Tampere who organize it. So, if you have a thought for a paper, and want …

Ready!
Danish role-playing author Peter Brodersen does some modern art out of American propaganda materials. Neat. **Update:** More art, now in the form of [a traffic analysis](http://cancan.ter.dk/mrtg/threat.level.html) of the Threat Level of the Homeland Something-something of the USA.
Jason is My buddy
I am a role-playing guy. I meet and converse with my kind. Sometimes *my people* are successful, they meet with fame, recognition, &c. Makes me happy. Jason notes his role-playing scenario [The Shab-al-Hiri Roach](http://www.1km1kt.net/rpg/The_Shab-al-Hiri_Roach.php) has become a *bona fide* hit among the independent luminaries. In this thread at influential role-playing online community The Forge, Ron …
Control your PEAR with PEAR_RemoteInstaller
An alpha release of this PEAR package caught my eye: PEAR_RemoteInstaller. > Originally part of the 1.4.0 new features, > remote installation through FTP is now its own package. > This package adds the commands “remote-install” “remote-upgrade” > “remote-uninstall” and “remote-upgrade-all” to the PEAR core. Neato.
Malmö apartment opportunity [OLD]
For clarity: This offer is outdated, and this post is kept for archive reasons. Best of luck finding an apartment, folks. Bye. My friend Ladislaus is going to Copenhagen. He needs to find a place to stay in Copenhagen. And would like to let his apartment out to someone. Maybe that is you? > Am …
Optimus keyboard
Gotta get me a keyboard with LEDs instead of normal keys. The keyboard can then show small images on the keys, or rather, inside them. Optimus keyboard is it. Special keyboard layouts like Photoshop and Quake are shown. I wonder when someone comes up with a “betterment” of `emacs`’s keybindinds. Via E Hammersley.
Computer game: Arcanum
I visited Göteborg, Sweden, last weekend, and I talked with Anders about computer games. I tried to remember the title of Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, and Wikipedia found it for me. Meaty articles on computer games. Enjoy.
