Jason is My buddy

I am a role-playing guy. I meet and converse with my kind. Sometimes *my people* are successful, they meet with fame, recognition, &c. Makes me happy.

Jason notes his role-playing scenario [The Shab-al-Hiri Roach](http://www.1km1kt.net/rpg/The_Shab-al-Hiri_Roach.php) has become a *bona fide* hit among the independent luminaries.

In this thread at influential role-playing online community The Forge, Ron Edwards heaps praise on the scenario.

Jason takes it in, rises to the occasion, and declares that the scenario will be published, at least at some point. He is looking for good card rounders. If you have *any* good ideas or experiences with them, please comment at his blog on that.

Control your PEAR with PEAR_RemoteInstaller

An alpha release of this PEAR package caught my eye: PEAR_RemoteInstaller.

> Originally part of the 1.4.0 new features,
> remote installation through FTP is now its own package.
> This package adds the commands “remote-install” “remote-upgrade”
> “remote-uninstall” and “remote-upgrade-all” to the PEAR core.

Neato.

Malmö apartment opportunity [OLD]

For clarity: This offer is outdated, and this post is kept for archive reasons. Best of luck finding an apartment, folks. Bye.

My friend Ladislaus is going to Copenhagen. He needs to find a place to stay in Copenhagen. And would like to let his apartment out to someone. Maybe that is you?

> Am interested in an **exchange of my Malmö for your Copenhagen** (if possible) OR **renting a room in Copenhagen** a while (1-3 months).

> Have a 2-room apartment at Slussen, 56 square meters.

I have been to that apartment, and can say it is in a quiet, yet central part of Malmö, 5 mins walk from the train station.

Freeform role-playing in dictionary form

[Tobias](http://blog.wrigstad.com/) and I have now condensed our thoughts on role-playing in the form of [a wiki](http://jeepen.olle.ter.dk/wiki/doku.php), but that fails to attract others, being hard to read, follow and use. Especially off-line.

The solution was to rewite some of the material and to collect it in one, accessible place. We had already bought [jeepen.org](http://blog.jeepen.org/), and set up a blog there, so now you can find our newly repackaged material at [dict.jeepen.org](http://dict.jeepen.org/).

This is quite exciting, and I hope it is a way of sharing our thoughts, and revising them more often.

**Double-geek contents note**: A Ruby script for some HTML transforms, a CSS file to style the resulting HTML file, and a Makefile to run the whole thing, and to upload the new files to the website. And, yes, all text is in a Subversion source-control repository. Future plans include moving the text to Markdown format, to be easier on the editors’ eyes, and controlling the action from a Rakefile instead. Scripting everything in Ruby is… more fun.

Moira: Swedish cutting-edge larp

Moira, “modern fantasy” live-action role-playing game.

It is already played, and here is the organizers’ letter to the involved. A kind of post-mortem.

There are pictures, courtesy of Gabriel.

> “All magic replaced by half-bad grainy photos with no focus. May give a hint on how this bizarre fairytale reality was manifested.”

Joc told large fragments of stories from the larp. This is one of the ones I have missed.

My bike dealer, a hero

I have the pleasure of telling you that my new bike will be led to its first tighten-the-screws service today, at my bike dealer’s:

> Ravnen

> Nansensgade 36

> 1366 København K

> Phone: +45 3332 1828

The woman running that bike shop is the hardest, toughest and most straight-forward I have met in all of Denmark. L and I love her warmly.

On account of that love she gave me a handsome discount on the new bike I bought, and now I am also her customer.

Herewith, she comes recommended for all bike work in Copenhagen, with my seal of approval.

WordPress Plugins Database

For Mac folk out there, Peter Rukavina has made a screencast about using the Del.icio.us service with a couple of loosely coupled applications Mac OS X.

For bloggers, and WordPress users foremost, there are many Del.icio.us plugins to choose from. I’m choosing something from the WordPress Plugins Database, but I shall do some reading on the features of each. I want caching of my links list — so that you, dear reader, shall not have to endure any page loading delays.

But, that will be in the near future.

**Update:** Article about Integrating Delicious using MagpieRSS.

I am also on the lookout for a smart tagging plugin for WordPress. “Get on the cluetrain” or something. Let me know if you spot something.
